How to Clean the Car Engine on a 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix

    • 1). Park your Grand Prix on a slightly sloped surface and shut it off.

    • 2). Pop the hood by pulling the hood release handle above the brake pedal and below the steering wheel.

    • 3). Open the hood to expose the engine.

    • 4). Spray degreaser over the entire engine. Focus the spray on the engine block and any very oily or dirty areas of the engine. You will need to lay under the front of the car to thoroughly spray the degreaser on base of the engine block which is usually very oily.

    • 5). Screw the hose from the pressure washer into the water source. Plug in the pressure washer into a GFCI (ground fault circuit interrupter) outlet, which is safe for use around water.

    • 6). Turn on the water source. Turn on the pressure washer.

    • 7). Spray off the engine at every angle possible in order to thoroughly clean the engine.

    • 8). Turn off and disconnect the pressure washer and water source when you are down washing the engine.
